Then there was a splash

Oeps, de foto is niet helemaal goed. Dat krijg je als je het zo druk hebt en vergeten bent je layout voor 'The sunny side blog' door te mailen (waar ik in het designteam zit). Maar goed, het is gelukt en dit is het resultaat:

Deze foto's zijn genomen in Yellowstone, waar we naar de Old Faitful geyser hadden gekeken. Daarna liepen we verder en zagen we allemaal mensen zitten wachten. Natuurlijk gingen wij daarbij zitten en even later begon deze geyser, de Grand Geyser (what's in a name) te spuiten, 60 meter hoog en 12 minuten lang. Tussendoor stopte hij even om daarna weer in volle kracht uit te barsten. Op de foto's lijkt het allemaal niet zo groot en indrukwekkend maar dat was het wel. Op de videobeelden hoor je mensen klappen als hij onverwacht weer opnieuw uitbarst. We hebben genoten!

torch relay, Henley on Thames

In 2012 waren we op vakantie in Engeland en we wilden per sé wat meepakken van de Olympische Spelen. Het toeval wilde dat door 'ons' dorp de torch relay was, de doortocht van de Olympische vlam. Als Olympische Spelen fans wil je dat toch echt niet missen. De kids hadden er eerst niet zo'n zin in, wat is er nu te zien aan een vlam. Maar na afloop vertelden ze dat dit toch wel iets heel bijzonders was en dat ze zo hadden genoten!

Ik heb vooral gewerkt met papier uit de Teresa Collins paperpad (15x15 cm. groot), glimmermist en sterponsen.

In 2012 we were on vacation in England and we certainly wanted to see some Olympic Games stuff. So we noticed that the Olympic Torch Relay went through 'our' village. We're real Olympic Games fans so we certainly don't want to miss that. The kids were a little cranky, what's to see at a flame. But afterwards they told us that this was some special stuf en they enjoyed it very much.

I mainly worked with papers from the Teresa Collins paperpad (15x15 cm.), glimmermist and star punches.

Pretty Perfect

Een poosje geleden zaten wij de film 'The Lorax' te kijken. Opeens zie ik mijn dochter in de film voorbijkomen!

Mijn kids zien de overeenkomst niet maar ik toch echt wel hoor! Als je op de layout klikt zie je een grotere afbeelding en kun je de journaling lezen.

A little while ago we were looking at the movie 'The Lorax. Suddenly I see my daughter on screen! My kids don't see the similarity but I really do.

We at olympic park 2

Dit is de layout voor in mijn dochters scrapbook.  Ik heb weer gebruik gemaakt van veel washi tapes. De hexagons heb ik uitgestanst met een spellbinder nestabilitie. De Vlaggetjes zijn uitgeknipt en de titel is gemaakt met allemaal restjes thickers die ik nog had liggen. Natuurlijk heb ik ook hier stukjes van de souvenier-verpakking verwerkt (onder de tekst 'love it'vind je het logo van de olympische spelen en rechtsonder op de pagina een ander stukje van de verpakking).

This is the layout for in my daughters scrapbook. I used a lot of washi tapes again. The hexagons are punched out with a spellbinder nestabilitie. The bunting is cut out and the title is made with all 'left-overs' from the thickers I have. Ofcourse I used some pieces from the souvenir-package from the keyring she bought. On the left top of the layout you'll find the logo of the olympic games and on the right below you'll find another piece of the packaging.

Challenge 24, I really really like this...

Dit is mijn uitwerking van challenge 21 van Sunny Side Up Creations.

De bedoeling is dat je minimaal drie kleuren uit het kleurschema gebruikt. Ik heb de kleuren grijs, roze en oranje gebruikt.

De foto's zijn genomen in de efteling, ons nichtje was voor de eerste keer een hele dag met ons op stap en we hebben genoten!

This is my layout I made with the colors of Challenge 21 from Sunny Side Up Creations.

You have to take a minimum of three colors from the colorsceme. I used grey, pink and orange.

The photo's were taken in The Efteling, it was the first time our little niece went for a whole day of adventures and fun with us.

We at olympic park

In de zomervakantie zijn we naar Engeland gegaan en zijn we ook naar het Olympisch stadion gegaan.

Mijn man en ik zijn echte Olympic fans en we wilden dit zo graag met eigen ogen zien en de sfeer van de voorbereidingen voelen, wanneer komen de spelen nu zo dicht in de buurt!

During summer holiday we went to England and we also went to see the Olympic Venues. My husband and I are real Olympic fans and we wanted to see this with our own two (eh...four) eyes to taste the athmosphere from the preps.

Ik heb heerlijk zitten spelen met mijn nieuwe Hexagon stansen van Spellbinder. Wat kun je hier leuke effecten mee maken, gewoon met wat hexagons, een kleurtje dessinpapier en een cardstock ondergrond. Ik heb hier inmiddels drie layouts mee gemaakt die je komende tijd op de blog zult zien.

I loved playing with my new hexagon punches from spellbinder. I love the effects you can make with these. Just some hexagons, one color dessignpaper and one cardstock background. I made 3 layouts with them (for now) and you'll see them in time on my blog.
